Representative: Jermaine Taylor, TCom Solutions. A Conditional Use Permit application proposes to construct a new wireless telecommunications facility “cell tower” at the Big Bear Snow Play site. The wireless telecommunication facility would be located on a 900 sf leased space of the larger 14-acre property that is developed as a year-round recreation center in the Commercial-Recreation (C-4) zone. An 8-foot high block wall will enclose the proposed communication facilities, which include a 65-foot tower camouflaged to resemble a pine tree, a 64 sf equipment room, a transformer, a 30 kw standby generator, and a 200 gallon diesel fuel tank.

Finding of Conformance with the General Plan, Vacation of Right-of-Way application 2021 - 140, portion of Francis Way (Staff: Janice Etter, Senior Principal Planner). Location: Portion of Francis Way adjacent to 199 & 205 Lagunita Lane; APN’s 0307-071-36, 43 & 44. Applicant: Stone Family Trust 4/27/2002, Richard and Mary Stone. Representative: Andrew Goodwin Brown.Francis Way is a 20-foot wide L-shaped street of approximately 425 feet in length. It is designated as “non-maintained” in the City’s street network. The applicants own the adjacent lots (currently APNs 0307-071-36, 43 & 44) and request that the City abandon a small portion at the terminus of Francis Way to allow for a future merger of the three parcels. While the City Council will take action on the requested rights-of-way abandonment, the Planning Commission must first make a determination that such request is consistent with the General Plan.
